LECTURE 8

         There are 7-group come in front of the room and present the project. Most of them do the research for their topic but my group develops the new web application. This week, they give you about their ideas to do the project. So, I have concluded the entire group in my opinion.

First group

        This group does a research about search application. They talk about the component in his project and how can they find the method to finish their project. I think that this group quite has less information but I believe that they can finish it.
        When you want to search for something, what compatible algorithm should be selected? How to apply the algorithm to this application? You have to find the best theory and you have to prove the algorithm that can be use for this research or not. Then you can apply the step of theorem. You have to make the decision which algorithm is the best. After you have research, you expect to know the step to apply the theory and clear the algorithm. You also understand the benefit or weak point of the algorithm. Finally, you try to find the best algorithm to search for something.

Second group

        This group does the research about the “small world”. The concept is a person who live in the same place will has probability to be friend more than a person who does not live in the same place. So, how the stranger come to be friend with you. What factor that lead the stranger to know each other. The answer is “six degrees of separation”. Six degrees of separation is the theory that describes the relationship between two stranger people. Third group

        For this group, their project is about “Social Network Site”. To compare and contrast the trend is very important for being in Social Network because you should update the trend all the time. There are the location based such as foursquare that can share the location where you are. There are many components that are the core of Social Network including: general, Blog, music, professional/business, Photo shared and video shared that will be describe below.

General: Social Network that provide use to shared something
Blog: Blog will allow user to share text message or other information and user can comment or give some recommendation.
Music: Almost artists will share their music on this.
Professional/business: They can share their profile to get some job.
Photo shared: Allow sharing the photos.
Video shared: Allow sharing the videos.

​Forth group

        This group develops real web application call “So-cl Checkin” base on Facebook. Their objective is about to increase a chance of unexpected meeting. You can see your friend online on the map in this web application but only friends that use this application will show. This application is use via Facebook. The latitude will tell the position. When you open this application, you will see the map and friend that pin their current location.

- You can group your friends
- You can search your friend to see the latest place.
- The notification will appear when you friend is checkin in your latest place.

Fifth group

        This is my group. We develop some web application call “PicStory”. You can post any photo and describe something about your photo. Then, you friends will post next photo to make the story goes on. The funny is how the related story goes far. So, it will depend on the imagination on each person to make the photo story. Moreover, your can comment on your friend’s photo to give some recommend and your friend can reply back to you. Beside, you can specify your friends. It means that you can choose private or public on your photo story. After we present, one group suggests us to have the category of room. So, we will try to add this function on the application.

Sixth group

        This group do a research about “Facebook Additive”. This application use for measure the using of Facebook. People must have limit to use it appropriately. So, they will manage and analyze the data to create this application. The goal of this project is to help people know their limit of using Facebook.

Seventh group

        This is the last group. They do project about popularity of viral video. The viral video is a simple video but unique. Many people keep seeing this video, so the video becomes very popular. They will find the characteristic and try to get some knowledge to do the marketing from viral video. Then, they can predict the next video that can be viral video. There are two interesting information
1. Statistical information: Get the simple video and then analyze it.
2. Psychological information: Read the literature and think what is the effect of the factor.
